woman-dancingI have worked with those who think that they can’t dance for 7 years.  Most who come to me experience considerable fear when thinking about getting onto a dance floor.  Many freeze and describe feeling wooden, others manage to move but feel so self-conscious and terrible inside.  The tendency is for wanting a quick-fix crash course in learning to move, this sometimes happens but on the whole, overcoming dance floor phobia is a process not to be underestimated.

How it works?

The next four week course will be in October 2010 (4th, 11th, 18th & 25th). £80
November 2010 is a 5 week course (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th). £100
December 2010 will be the 6th and 13th on a drop in basis
£20 per class

This is an opportunity to overcome your dance floor fears, gain confidence and skills with others who experience similiar self-consciousness when dancing in public.

The classes are held in Angel Islington. A deposit of £50 will secure your place on either of the October or November courses.

The classes are aimed at getting each person moving so that you feel and look good when dancing.  There are not any particular dance steps being taught and so it is quite different from a regular dance class. Contact me to discuss the classes and to find out if they are for you.

If the thought of joining a class is too daunting either contact me to arrange an individual session prior to the course or

Contact me to arrange an assessment session where we can both decide if it seems that Dance Movement Psychotherapy with me could be useful.  If we go ahead, there follows 3/4 sessions to give some time to establish the aims of the work together.
